Did you cut all your hair off?? You look great as always!
Yep, I cut it all off almost two years ago. I’ts thinning across my crown, and it was just time to move on from the old ‘style’. I had my previous hair cut for at least 12 years.
Do you miss having your long hair?
I really do sometimes. Over the years I’ve told many people when they’ve asked about my hair, that when I first cut it that way (in the wedding photo), it was like putting on a shoe that fit “just right”. I felt like that was the way my hair was always meant to be.
In some ways, I really like the short hair. It doesn’t catch in my beard stubble, or get im my mouth when I’m working anymore. It has also changed the way I am treated by people who don’t know me. That was a big part of why I wore my hair long in the first place. I wanted people to know that you could have long hair and sing for a rock band AND be on the high school debate team. Overall, I’m pretty disappointed with continued prejudice in the world, and I feel like letting my freak flag fly, like I owe it to someone.
